AlMeer Awarded Major Electrical Upgrade Project at UWIP

September 17, 2024

AlMeer Saudi Technical Services Co. has been awarded a significant project to Upgrade Electrical Equipment at Uthmaniyah Water Injection Plants (UWIPs). This project underscores our commitment to delivering excellence and innovation in technical services.

This project focuses on upgrading the electrical infrastructure at four Uthmaniyah Water Injection Plants (UWIPs), managed by the Sea Water Injection Department (SWID): UWIP-1, UWIP-3, UWIP-4, and UWIP-5. The current 480V switchgear and Motor Control Center (MCC) units, which are over 40 years old, are outdated and no longer comply with Saudi Aramco standards. This equipment is crucial for powering and controlling motors in the UWIPs.

Key project objectives include:
– Enhancing personnel safety by replacing obsolete low-voltage switchgear and MCC units.
– Mitigating Arc Flash hazards in accordance with Saudi Aramco standards.
– Replacing obsolete electrical equipment to improve system reliability.
– Optimizing capital investment while ensuring profitability.

AlMeer Saudi is responsible for the LSTK scope of replacing the aging equipment with modern, more compact alternatives that maintain the same functionality and improve safety. AlMeer will upgrade the equipment within the existing UWIP substations, with work primarily involving the installation of new equipment at the same locations.

By addressing both safety hazards and equipment obsolescence, this project will ensure long-term reliability and operational efficiency at the UWIP facilities. At AlMeer Saudi Technical Services Co., we are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the highest standards of quality and safety. Our team of experts are well-equipped to handle all aspects of such scope of projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion to the satisfaction of all our clients.
